High-Accuracy Hydrographic Surveys

Drawing on our diverse surveying skillset and wide-ranging industry experience, we offer specialised hydrographic services for a number of areas and market sectors, including bathymetric surveys, sidescan sonar surveys, coastal monitoring and more.

In addition, we can assist with the collection, processing, and reporting of certified hydrographic data for commercial and residential foreshore developments (as required by Transport for NSW for new and renewed lease proposals), as well as hydrographic data collection requirements for NSW Crown Lands licences and proposal applications.

With our streamlined, integrated systems and well-developed processes, we can deliver these projects in tight timeframes while maintaining the highest standards of quality assurance and accuracy.

Whatever type of hydrographic surveying solution you need, no job is too small for Trident Hydrographic.

Bathymetric Surveys

Trident Hydrographic specialises in the delivery of high-definition port and harbour surveys.

Utilising the latest in precision sonar and autonomous system technologies – including specialist sensor platforms, unique sonar mounts and refined data processing techniques – our systematic approach allows us to capture high-resolution seafloor imaging to meet your project requirements.

Our purpose-built uncrewed survey vessel (USV) enables reliable and accurate low-speed positioning control, station-keeping, and survey track repeatability in any direction, for ease of manoeuvre even in confined spaces.

Singlebeam surveys benefit greatly from the addition of Sidescan Sonar imagery between the lines of sounding – this ensures that all significant features, and in particular any dangers to navigation, are located and positioned.

Whether your bathymetric survey project calls for singlebeam or high resolution multibeam data, Trident Hydrographic has your needs covered.

Sidescan Sonar Surveys

A highly effective tool for identifying seabed objects or items of debris, sidescan sonar use sound energy and strength to cover large areas quickly and cost-effectively.

Sidescan Sonar can be used for pre and post-construction surveys for all maritime projects.

Environmental and Coastal Monitoring Surveys

Our high-quality coastal monitoring surveys can identify both short-term and long-term trends, enabling accurate predictions and effective monitoring of changes in the coastal environment.

The valuable data obtained by our environmental and coastal monitoring surveys can provide you with vital insights into how the coastline is changing, for strategic decisions on flooding and erosion risks.

Tide, Current and Geodetic Surveys

Our experienced team can assist with all types of tide, current and geodetic surveying solutions. Our services for tide gauge and current meters include full installation, as well as processing, analysis and reporting of the datasets they produce.

We offer recovery, transfer and establishment services for tidal datums and geodetic control, and can also conduct geodetic control surveys and differential levelling networks, working with our trademark speed, accuracy and efficiency on every project.

Data Processing, Reporting and Quality Assurance

Equipped with industry-leading hydrographic data processing software, we can provide advanced bathymetric data processing and reporting for Singlebeam, Multibeam, Backscatter and Sidescan Sonar surveys, in line with international standards and industry best practices.

What’s more, as certified hydrographic surveyors, our qualified team can offer formal Quality Assurance and Project Management services for your hydrographic surveys (including bathymetric, geodetic and tide/current projects) – so you can rest assured that your project will run smoothly at every stage.

Aerial Imaging and Survey Mapping

When you need to map large or hard-to-reach areas, drones are a fast and cost-efficient solution that provide high-quality, meaningful data.

Our small survey-grade Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) are equipped with the latest aerial mapping technology, allowing us to obtain consistent data with centimetre-level positional accuracy across large areas.

Our experienced team utilises a combination of aerial imagery and LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) on UAVs to collect all the surveying data you need with high efficiency, for a fast turnaround and reliable results.

Trident Hydrographic is accredited by CASA (ReOC No.: 6517) to operate UAVs for aerial mapping and inspection services.
